The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) made it's worldwide appearance in October 1999. Since that date the TCG conquered the non-sports trading card scene and it continues growing every year. Pokémon has a good rotation that keeps the card game interesting. Besides that it continues to thrive in artworks of your favorite Pokémon and future releasing Pokémons.

- Damage Counters: Dice or flat counters to track damage done to Pokémon during battle.
- A Coin or Coin-Flip Die: Used for coin flips required by various card attacks and rules.
- Special Condition Markers: Markers for burned or poisoned Pokémon (though dice often work for this too).
For beginners the Pokémon TCG Battle Academy is recommended. Pre-made decks are available too.
