The new Pokémon TCG Series: Phantasmal Flames is about to release in november 2025. This new set introduces powerful Mega Evolution Pokémon cards first seen in the XY series. It features existing and new Mega Evolutions from the new Legends Z-A Pokémon games for Nintendo Switch. The legends Z-A Game releases on the 16th of October in 2025.
Phantasmal Flames is the second English set of the Mega Evolution series. The new set brings popular Mega Evolutions like Gengar & Charizard back into the Trading Card Game (TCG). These cards are illustrated out of beautiful colors and are a must for every collector out there.
What are Pokémon Mega Evolutions?
Pokémon Mega Evolutions are the most powerful evolution of Pokémon. In the TCG, the cards are very powerfull and have HP up until 380 for the Mega Venusaur. Not every Pokémon can mega evolve, only certain Pokémon like Lucario, Gardevoir, Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard can mega evolve.
Are there new Mega Evolutions?
New Mega Evolutions are released with the new Pokémon Legends Z-A game for Nintendo Switch. So far only Dragonite & Hawlucha are known to get a mega evolution yet. It is likely that all new mega evolutions are also featured in the Phantasmal Flames TCG set.
