Het Fenomeen: Wat is Mega Evolutie?

Geïntroduceerd in Pokémon X en Y (Generatie VI), is Mega Evolutie een tijdelijke transformatie die bepaalde Pokémon tijdens gevechten kunnen ondergaan. In tegenstelling tot reguliere evolutie, die permanent is, duurt Mega Evolutie slechts voor de duur van een gevecht.

• De Vereisten: Om een Mega Evolutie te activeren, heeft een Trainer een Keystone nodig (vaak gedragen in een armband genaamd een Mega Ring), en de Pokémon moet zijn specifieke Mega Stone vasthouden (bijv. Lucarionite voor Lucario).
• De Band: Naast de fysieke voorwerpen, dicteert de lore dat een diepe emotionele band tussen de Trainer en de Pokémon vereist is om deze staat te bereiken.
• De Krachtverhoging: Mega Geëvolueerde Pokémon ervaren significant verhoogde basisstatistieken. Ze kunnen ook hun type veranderen en een nieuwe Ability verkrijgen, wat hun gevechtsstrategie volledig verandert.
