Ancient Fossils with Modern Flavor
Fossil-like Trainer cards have been a staple of the Pokémon TCG since their inception in the Fossil expansion. Whether they were Item cards that helped get Pokémon like Kabuto into play or Item cards that were played directly onto the Bench as Basic Pokémon, they've always been the backbone of any prehistoric strategy. Antique Dome Fossil, Antique Helix Fossil, and Antique Old Amber bring a new flavor to these prehistoric strategies as Items that can be played as Basic Pokémon that specifically evolve into Kabuto, Omanyte, and Aerodactyl—the first cards with these effects in over 10 years. Each has a solid Ability that helps protect these delicate fossils before they evolve into these prehistoric Pokémon.

Stories in Evolution
Scarlet & Violet—151 is a unique expansion where illustrators portray a Pokémon and the story of its Evolution across several cards. This is common with illustration rare cards, but this trend spans across the whole set from 1–151. Illustrator Naoyo Kimura showcases the Evolution from Pikachu to Raichu by having the two Pokémon walk in different directions at different times of day. Illustrator Shinya Komatsu portrays something similar as Cubone ponders its bone in a field of rocks before evolving into Marowak and smashing the field around it with newfound strength.
